Hi Bram, I discovered the Darkland Tales books during a recent visit to Scotland. Shame that this one wasn't more inspiring. I loved Denise Mina's take on Rizzio and I'm keen to read Hex by Jenni Fagan.
Hey Ange! Yeah, even with the couple of "lesser" titles, I still think it's my favourite novella series of all time. Such a brilliant concept, always well (if not brilliantly) excecuted. Hex is my favourite, but I also love Rizzio and David Grieg's Columba's Bones. I've reviewed them all here. I did like the McDermid but it's just doesn't have the incredible drive and hook of the three best. Still worth a read!
